Maundy Thursday Eucharist

Occurring
for 1 hour, 15 mins
Venue
St George
Address
Rua Sao Jorge 6 (Estrela) Lisbon, 1250-235, Portugal

We gather to remember the last evening of Jesus´ life, as he broke bread with his disciples, washed their feet and commanded them to love each other. We share communion, and watch as the altar is stripped of its adornments, in preparation for Good Friday.

St George

St George, Lisbon is an International church with services in English, serving people from many different countries.  Our building gives a traditional feel to our services and there is a warm welcome to our many visitors.  It is situated in the grounds of the British Cemetery which you are welcome to explore afterwards or join us in the Church Hall for refreshments.

Safeguarding

Our Chaplaincy of St George Lisbon and St Paul Estoril is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Europe’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO David Cranmer [email protected] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Team [email protected]. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local Câmara´s children or adult care services.
