Following the lifting of legal COVID restrictions from today, congregational singing will return in our Sunday service from 25 July. Our choir and musicians will also return when they are ready to do so.It will no longer be a requirement to social distance, but we will ask people to continue to wear face masks while new case rates remain high.It will no longer be necessary to register in advance or on the day. For those who wish to do so, there will be a QR code for use with NHS COVID 19 app.Our groups will remain on Zoom for the time being
Please pray for Revd Bisi and Bro Henry as they prepare for their upcoming ordinations. Revd Bisi is being ordained as a priest on Saturday 3rd July as St Peter's Walworth and her first Eucharist will be at St Paul's Thamesmead on Sunday 4th July at 9,30 am.Brother Henry is to be ordained as a deacon on Saturday 26th June at 11 am at Southwark Cathedral and he will then be serving his title in Thamesmead. His first service as deacon will be at St Paul's on Sunday 27th June at 9.30.If you are planning to attend either of these services at St Paul's, please be sure to book well in advance as numbers are still limited due to restrictions and demand for places will be high.
We are very pleased to announce that Bishop Christopher has appointed The Revd Ruth Turner to be the next Team Vicar of William Temple Church, subject to completion of the usual procedures. Ruth is currently Associate Vicar in the Battersea Fields parish in the Diocese of Southwark. Prior to that she served in two parishes in Derbyshire. Ruth will bring to the role a wealth of experience in estates ministry and youth work and a passion for community engagement. She also has a strong musical background having been the Music Director of a large church in Oxford prior to ordination. It is expected that Ruth will be licensed at a service at William Temple on 10<sup>th</sup> September. In the meantime, do please pray for her as she prepares for her new ministry.
Services in church will resume on Sunday 18th April. As before they will be at 9.30 am and be socially distanced. Face coverings must be worn unless the person is exempt and pre-registration is required for each household. Services will be live streamed on our YouTube channel for those unable to attend.
