St George's

Join us for service every Sunday at 10:00. Full details of our schedule are on website and Facebook page. They include Holy Communion, Morning Prayer and Praise and Celtic Worship.

St George's is located in the picturesque spa village of Vernet-les-Bains, nestling on the slopes of the magnificent Canigou (2785m). After coffee and fellowship you can explore one of the many local attractions such as the mountainside Abbey of St Martin le Canigou, the nearby UNESCO ranked fortified village of Villefranche de Conflent and many others. Or simply relax in the arboretum park, a short stroll from St George's, before enjoying a leisurely lunch in one of the local restaurants.

St George's is home to France's only ring of English change-ringing bells (John Taylor & Co, 2019). Visiting ringers are always welcome. Details on the bells' website: vernetbells.com

Safeguarding

Our parish of Vernet les Bains is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Europe’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO via our website, stgeorgevlb.com or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor at https://www.europe.anglican.org/resources/safeguarding-diocese-europe. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
