Coronation Lunch Party

Occuring
for 2 hours
Venue
St Nicholas' Anglican Church, Helsinki
Address
Tehtaankatu 23 B Helsinki, 00150, Finland

Join us in celebrating the Coronation of HM Charles III! We are hosting a 'Pot-Luck' lunch where anyone can join and bring a dish to share! We also have a fun Coronation Quiz, Paddington's Marmalade & Tea on sale, free green-fingered activities for Children, a Selfie Station complete with regal props, and a Raffle!
Please arrive between 11.30am and 11.45am for a warm lunch and to find a seat at one of our tables. Scones and other desserts will be served from 12.30. Each table seats 6- 8 people should you wish to come in a group. If you are able to bring a dish/plate of food to share then please add it to the buffet table with a note about ingredients. You may also want to put a name label on the bottom of your dish/plate so that you can easily find it again after the lunch! We are hoping for some international flavours to reflect the different nationalities and cultures in our wonderful home city.
The lunch takes place in the crypt of Mikael Agricola kirkko, which can be accessed on street level (same venue as St Nicholas' Annual Christmas Bazaar). It would help with our preparations if you could indicate whether 'going' to the event via this page.
Prior to the lunch we have a dedicated service in the main church at 10am with coronation music, including the national anthems of the UK and Finland! St Nicholas' Chamber Choir will be singing at the service - having also performed at our Platinum Jubilee service in 2022 and for the televised Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.

We are a diverse and inclusive community, with people of many cultures, ages and nationalities joining together in worship and friendship. Our services are in English and follow the liturgy of the Church of England, accompanied by wonderful choral music from our Music director and choir. Our Sunday School and Youth Group which meet regularly on Sunday mornings and help to lead our monthly All-Age services.  Whether you are living in Finland or just visiting, we welcome you!

St Nicholas is the ‘mother congregation’ of the Anglican Chaplaincy in Finland, led by our chaplain the Revd Tuomas Mäkipää. We are based at Mikael Agricola Kirkko in central Helsinki. Anglican services in English are available in three other cities: Espoo, Tampere and Turku. Together we belong to the Church of England’s Diocese in Europe.

Our regular services include the Sung Eucharist on Sundays at 10:00am at Mikael Agricola Church, and monthly All-Age Services and Evensongs.  For weekly updates on services, events and community news you can subscribe to our weekly newsletter on our website www.anglican.fi.
