Ash Wednesday

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
Helsinki Cathedral
Address
Helsinki Cathedral, Unionkatu 29, 00170, Finland

Please join us for Ash Wednesday at Helsinki Cathedral on Wednesday 5th March from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. We look forward to gathering together with the St. Thomas Community and Helsinki Cathedral Parish for this service, in both Finnish and English, marking the start of the season of Lent. Ashes are an ancient sign of penitence; from the middle ages it became the custom to begin Lent by being marked in ash with the sign of the cross. The ashes that are used are from the burning of palm crosses from the previous Palm Sunday.
Messussa laulaa anglikaanisen seurakunnan kuoro.
