The Ananias Project

We are delighted to introduce our initiative, created by the Anglican Church in Sofia, to provide subsidised housing and community support for individuals facing a variety of life challenges.

Our motto, "Empowering Lives Through Support, Community, and Faith" encapsulates our commitment to uplifting those in need.

Mission Statement:

The Ananias Project seeks to empower individuals facing challenges such as financial hardship, homelessness, and emotional or personal struggles. By offering a 'foot-up' through subsidised housing and community support, we aim to help individuals regain stability and independence in a compassionate, faith-based environment. Inspired by Ananias in Acts 9, who responded to God's call despite uncertainty, we provide not only a place to stay but also opportunities for personal growth and faith-based support. Participation in church activities and Bible study is welcomed but entirely optional, extending this opportunity to Christians and those exploring faith.

Vision Statement:

We envision a community where individuals receive a "foot-up" through temporary assistance and faith-based guidance, encouraging personal responsibility and growth. The Ananias Project fosters a supportive environment, empowering individuals to regain independence while providing a nurturing community through engagement with the Anglican Church in Sofia.

Core Values:

- Empowerment: Equipping individuals with the tools and support to take control of their lives and achieve independence.
- Community: Offering a welcoming environment that fosters personal growth through faith-based and communal support.
- Faith-Based Support: Providing spiritual resources for those exploring or deepening their faith, with no obligation to participate.
- Personal Responsibility: Encouraging individuals to take active steps towards self-sufficiency while receiving guidance and care.
- Compassion: Extending empathy and love to all individuals, recognising the unique dignity of each person in need.

Our Logo, A Symbol of Our Mission:

The logo of The Ananias Project embodies the essence of our mission. The intertwined hands represent our commitment to uplifting others, coloured in the hues of our church to reflect our faith-based roots. The hands also subtly resemble flames, symbolising the Holy Spirit—an important representation of guidance and renewal in our community. Just as Ananias provided healing and direction in the Bible, we strive to be a beacon of hope for those we serve.

We invite you to join us on this journey and share this message with anyone who may benefit from our services. Together, we can create a compassionate and nurturing environment for all. 🙏❤️
