Are you passionate about music and looking for an opportunity to use your talents in a meaningful way? We are seeking a dedicated musician to lead our worship services on Sunday mornings. Our church currently focuses on traditional hymns, but we aspire to blend this with contemporary music, creating a richer worship experience for our diverse congregation.

While our worship music is rooted in traditional hymns, we recognise the value of contemporary music. Throughout history, composers like Charles Wesley wrote hymns that were contemporary for their time. Wesley's contributions, alongside other influential hymn writers like Isaac Watts and Fanny Crosby, have shaped the fabric of worship music. Charles Wesley alone wrote over 6,000 hymns, many of which are still cherished today. Isaac Watts, known as the "Father of English Hymnody," introduced a new era of hymn writing with works like "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross."

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, Fanny Crosby's prolific hymn writing brought fresh and inspiring worship music to the church, with classics such as "Blessed Assurance." These hymn writers brought contemporary relevance to their faith through music, much like modern songwriters do today.

Today, contemporary worship music continues this tradition, bridging the past and present. Artists like Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Hillsong Worship, and Lauren Daigle have created songs that resonate deeply with today's worshippers, blending timeless themes with modern melodies. Their music, along with other contemporary artists like Bethel Music and Elevation Worship, provides a rich tapestry of worship that speaks to diverse congregations around the world.

A Welcoming Community: Our congregation consists of members from various denominational backgrounds, making our community a warm and inclusive place for everyone.

Musical Variety: While we currently focus on traditional hymns, we are excited to incorporate contemporary worship music into our services. This blend aims to create a vibrant and spiritually uplifting environment.

Development Opportunity: This role offers a chance to develop worship leadership skills. You will have the opportunity to plan and lead our worship services, making a significant impact on our community’s spiritual life.

What We’re Looking For:

Musical Talent: Proficiency in playing an instrument (piano, guitar, etc.) and a good singing voice.

Passion for Music and Worship: Whether you’re an experienced musician or someone who loves to play and sing, your enthusiasm and love for music are what we need. This role is open to anyone with a heart for creating meaningful worship experiences, regardless of your current faith journey.

Commitment: Availability to lead worship services on Sunday mornings. While we don’t have regular rehearsals, planning might be required for special events like Easter and Christmas.
