Elsdon: St Cuthbert

Welcome to St Cuthbert's in Elsdon - we are glad you found us!

The church is open to visitors every day (usually 9am-5pm) as a quiet place for contemplation, prayer and exploration.  St. Cuthbert's has a long and interesting history, with Roman & Saxon burial stones, medieval building works from 12th century onwards, and Victorian alterations creating a complex building that speaks of the long Christian history of our area. For full details see the 'History of St Cuthbert's Church' in our 'News' section. For our church magazine please see the News and notices/ Notice sheets section. Also our Facebook page 'Redesdale Churches'.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Elsdon: St Cuthbert is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer, namely Dr Andrew Brittlebank. The Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA). If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority's children or adult social care Services.
