Holy Week and Easter 2025

We will be observing Holy Week and celebrating Easter at St Andrew and St Mark's church with the full Holy Week and Easter services in church. The services will also be accessible online on Zoom and on Facebook Live.

We start Holy Week with Palm Sunday on April 13th. Join us as we journey with Jesus and his disciples to the joy of Easter Day.

The service for young families at St Mark's on Palm Sunday is followed by donkey rides. Then we process down to St Andrew's, from 10.50am to arrive at St Andrew's to start that service at 11am.

During Holy Week itself, we have quiet services at St Mark's from Monday to Wednesday. At 8am we have a queit eucharist. At 8pm, we have compline.

Then from Maundy Thursday, the main location of worship moves to St Andrew's.

At 7.30pm on Thursday, we have a eucharist with footwashing at St Andrew's. This is followed by a watch until midnight.
On Good Friday, the church is open for reflection from 12 noon, but from 2pm is our main liturgy, including reverencing the Cross. That finishes at 3pm.

Then on Holy Saturday, our evening service for Easter Eve starts at 8pm. This includes the magnificent Easter readings and a time to pledge our faith to God.

On Sunday, Easter Day, there are three services, at 8am at St Andrew's (Book of Common Prayer) at 9.15am at St Mark's with action songs and more for families with young children and then a glorious Easter Day choral eucharist at 11am at St Andrew's and during that service children will be making the Easter garden outside.
