Join us in St Mary's Church Hall for another Explored Christianity in our series, exploring the notable achievements of extraordinary Christian men and women who were driven by profound belief in art, literature, poetry, music, architecture and science.

This month Richard Walker will present a talk on Guildford Action's 'Heartening Results', the range of benefits the charity has been able to deliver to the homeless and isolated as a result of Christian charity, generosity, and kindness. Guildford Action is a noble cause. It helps young and old, many of whom suffered abuse as children and ran from whatever they called home. For all these people, Guildford Action provides a place of warmth, safety, and love, where people can drop in for meals, chat, enter rehabilitation, and be guided towards a life of social normality.

The talks last about 40 minutes and are followed by informal discussion over wine and canapés. Everyone is most welcome. The evening is free. Any donations received go to supporting Guildford Action, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, and St Mary's Church.

Dockenfield: The Church of the Good Shepherd

The Church of the Good Shepherd, Dockenfield was built in 1911 and is a beautiful example of the arts and crafts movement and architecture of the period.  It is a Chapel of Ease to St Mary the Virgin in Frensham.

We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Guildford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Jon Savavage using the link to our website Safeguarding page or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor, Jackie Broadfoot, on 07918 559387. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
