Join us for another Christianity Explored talk in St Mary's Church Hall, exploring the notable achievements of extraordinary Christian men and women in art, literature, poetry, music, architecture and science who were driven by profound belief. This month Roy Waight will talk about the life and work of poet, orator and priest, George Herbert (1593 – 1633), revealing how his non-Biblical Christian texts are sublime in expression and profound in meaning. In his time, Herbert was referred to as "a most glorious saint and seer."
The Talks last about 40 minutes and are followed by informal discussion over wine and canapés. Everyone is most welcome. The evening is free. Any donations received go to supporting Guildford Action, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, and St Mary's Church.
