After 4 years the Frensham Christmas Festival is back at St Mary’s Church on 9th and 10th December. There is a Tree Competition with about 40 decorated trees, entertainment, Christmas Stalls, Tombola, refreshments, light lunches ……. and more! Open 10.00am to 6.00pm on Saturday 9th with Carols by Candlelight at 7pm; and 10.00am to 5.00pm on Sunday 10th, followed by a Christingle service at 5.00pm. Festival Admission: Adults £5 - Under 16 years free! Children under 11 years to be accompanied please by an adult. For more information and a tree entry form contact [email protected]. Frensham: St Mary the Virgin

The Dedication of the historical Church of St Mary the Virgin is recorded in the Annals of Waverley Abbey for the year 1239: 

"The Church of Fermesham has been moved this year from the place where it was first sited to another place with the advice and help of Luke, Archdeacon of Surrey, and in the same year it has been dedicated."

Nothing is known of its previous site, but as to the likely cause of the removal, the Annals tell of massive storms in the area in the 1230s.

Our two magnificent church buildings in their rural settings within the Frensham Benefice provide the perfect place for worship and prayer in times of celebration and reflection.

We are a vibrant community of all ages and backgrounds with a Christian vision to make a positive difference to the people of Frensham and to those beyond. We would love you to join us.
