On Thursday 9 November the face of the clock on the tower of St Jude's was removed for refurbishment, and it was replaced on Thursday 29 February. The work cost almost £10000, and we have received donations towards this totalling about £9300. If you would like to help reach the target, you are very welcome: go to the homepage of this entry or to our website and use the donate button, or contact treasurer@stjudeschurch.infoSo now we can see and hear the time, as we have since 1859 (though the present mechanism dates from the 1960s).
The refurbishment of the external stonework on St Jude's has been completed, at a cost of £16000. Thank you for your patience whilst the work was under way.We now have permission to progress with the painting and gilding of the clock face. This will cost in the region of £10000. If you are willing to contribute to the cost of this, please make use of the donate button on this site.
