The Unknown Warrior was buried a century ago on November 11, 1920 to represent the many thousands who had died on the battlefields of the First World War (1914-18) and who had no other memorial or known grave.
His grave is in a church that has become the last resting place for Royalty and the famous. But the inscription on his gravestone reads: "They buried him among kings because he had done good towards God and towards his house."
