Celebrate the joy of Christmas Day with us at our special Eucharistic service, a heartwarming gathering that embodies the true spirit of the season.

Join our community as we come together to rejoice in the birth of Christ through the Eucharist—the central and sacred act of Christian worship. The Eucharist, also known as Holy Communion or Mass, is a symbolic sharing of bread and wine that commemorates the Last Supper and invites us into a profound connection with the divine.

This Christmas Day Celebration Eucharist is a blend of tradition and jubilation, featuring moments of reflection, joyous hymns, and the shared experience of partaking in the Eucharistic feast. It is a time to come together, express gratitude, and embrace the love and hope that Christmas represents.

St George the Martyr, Borough High Street

St George’s is a welcoming, vibrant world-diverse, inclusive church. We worship in the catholic tradition of the Church of England and the Mass or Eucharist is central to our identity. We have deep roots in tradition and deep roots in our neighbourhood: beautiful worship is our aim, yet this is never at the expense of being real about who and where we are. We are reverent but unfussy, serious about the sacred mysteries but with smiles on our faces and laughter in our bellies.

The Liturgy (the structure of the service) has been passed down to us and we receive it as a gift that holds and sustains us in all of our mess, unbelief, reverence and longing. We have a rhythm to our worship, a pattern that keeps us rooted in the mysteries of faith no matter what is going on for us personally or collectively.

Don’t worry if you feel like you don’t know what to do in a church service. Come as you are, sit, stand, kneel as you wish and just go with the flow, there is no judgement here. Come and feel at home in the conscious presence of God.
