About Us
We are a new missional focused Initiative seeking to revitalise the Parish of Christ Church Southwark and seek to serve the spirituality, wellbeing and faith needs of those who live or work in the area south of Blackfriars Bridge between the Oxo Tower and the Tate Modern up to Surrey Row and Boundary Road that includes some of Union Street and the Cut. We have two major transport hubs in the parish that include Blackfriars Stations and Southwark Tube and 5mins walk from Waterloo Stations.
There is a Parish Eucharist at Christ Church on the FIRST and THIRD Sunday of every month (currently online) from the summer we will go weekly. All are welcome. Our Parish Office Staff are available from 9am to 2pm Mon to Fri currently online. The John Marshall Hall and other rooms continue to be available for hire (after lockdown) and the church lockdown is lifted will be open to visitors Monday to Friday from 9am until 2pm.
We hold Evening prayer at 5.30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, see info about this in services and events. Currently these are streamed online through Facebook Live and YouTube Live.
We also focus on the promotion of wellbeing, spirituality and dialogue. We hold a Weekly Stressed in the City Silent Meditation Group aimed at reducing stress through the John Main approach, and a monthly spiritual not religious dialogue group and Contemplative Spirituality Book Reading Group. Again this are all currently online.
In normal times participants of the Church contribute to the life of the area by involvement in many community organisations including the Bankside Residents Forum, Blackfriars Settlement, Borough Market and various tenants associations. We also host the Robes Project, a winter shelter for homeless men and women.
