About Us

Christ Church is a lively, growing Christian community that seeks to live out Jesus’ calling, in the power of the Spirit, here in Ware and beyond.

People of all ages and stages are welcome and there is something for everyone from seniors to babies and all ages in-between. Each person brings something that will add colour and creativity to the church family and we want everyone to feel welcomed and accepted and to find a place of belonging and fulfilment.

Jesus said ‘Come, follow me’ and as a church we seek to hear Jesus’ voice so that we are Jesus Led.

Jesus said, ‘I have come that you might have life and have it to the full,’ and as a church of ordinary people we want to be Spirit Empowered that we might be His people, in His strength.

Jesus said, ‘As the father sent me, so I am sending you’. We have found God’s love and care and have experienced God’s grace in all that Jesus has done for us and we want to share that Grace with everyone - e becoming a ‘Grace Based’ church in all we are and do.

As a church, our Identity is as a people belonging to God: 1 Peter 2:9

and we are called (our mission) to:

Love God and others: Matthew 22:37,

Be disciples who make disciples: Matthew 28: 19 and

Be a people who pray and proclaim God’s Kingdom: Matthew 6:10, Acts 28: 31

We aim to be an authentic Acts 2: 42-47 church in today’s world and live out our values of being:

Sunday is a time when we come together for worship and teaching for adults, young people and children alike, with each group having their own time together. Our worship reflects different styles from a more traditional 9.15 am service, to our new contemporary evening worship. As a church we place a high value on worship, the ministry of the Word and Spirit, friendship and reaching out with the love of Jesus.

We have a network of Life Groups, which are relationally based and enable us to connect far deeper than just on a Sunday. We meet to share our lives and Christian experience through worship, learning from the scriptures and prayer, as well as enjoying lots of fun and food together! We seek to be outward-looking with groups having their own particular interests and focus.
