The Church of England has committed to its churches being carbon neutral by 2030 and we at St Peter’s are working towards an Eco Church award for the way we do things here. With this in mind, the PCC are keen to upgrade the lighting in the church to more environmentally friendly, long lasting, and warm cream LED lighting, with dimmer switches for special events, some of which are otherwise candlelit. They also wish to modernise the outside flood lighting which is in use regularly. At present when bulbs, which are high up in the nave, need changing, it means elderly members of the congregation need to use a long ladder or call an electrician just to change the bulb. This is a Health and Safety issue for us.</span>  We shall be extremely grateful for whatever you can give.  Only by maintaining the fabric of our ancient church building will it remain in good repair for ourselves and future generations.
