St Faith's Kelshall

Hello and welcome to St Faith's,

We hold a service at 9.00am every Sunday followed by refreshments and any newcomers will find themselves quickly drawn in to the buzz of conversation. You are warmly invited to come along to any of our services or events.

If you are interested in finding out about having your wedding at St Faith's or having a christening, please be in touch.

St Faith’s Church, Kelshall is a gem. Its architectural beauty and painted roof give a wonderful atmosphere for reflection. Nowadays the porch is protected by a pair of glass doors in memory of the late Ann King and her husband David. Recently redecorated it is a favourite stopping off point for walkers. Step inside and you will see a modern painted screen on your left - reflecting the ancient one by the chancel - behind which is a lovely mini kitchen and also, very importantly, a toilet, a huge asset in any church. Our congregation is small but full of enthusiasm, and well-known for being warm and welcoming. Although we are currently in an interregnum, we continue to have a very full programme of services in the church or on Zoom and are also planning various cultural activities during the coming year. A couple of trained singers help to lead the hymns and songs. We have a very talented organist whose improvised voluntaries are often still ringing through the building after everyone else has left.Whatever your preference, we aim to please you. Those who love the poetic language of Common Prayer are catered for once a month. Other services use the vast resources of Common Worship in modern language, following the seasons of the year. The fourth Sunday of every month sees us enjoying a lively, half hour service, often with a surprise element, followed by a good, hearty breakfast. Inspiring clergy help us on a regular basis, others stepping in when needed, we have two Lay Leaders of Worship in the congregation and we can also call upon the Lay Reader from St Mary’s, Therfield. Once a month we have a Benefice service for a special event and the two churches in the Benefice take turns to host it.

St. Faith's Parish Church Church Lane Kelshall Royston Herts, SG8 9SJ, United Kingdom

Food Share is slightly different to a food bank because the donations come directly from food retail. The donations are food that have a sell-by date of that day on them, but that are still edible.
With our food share project we do help those who are in some financial need, but it is not just for those in need. Food Share is different from a food bank because it's for absolutely everyone. As well as helping those who need a hand, we are all doing our bit for the environment by eating food that would otherwise go to landfill!
