Outside St James are white ribbons that you can tie onto the railings as you say a prayer for peace.

Inside the church there are some prayer stations with prayers you can say for the conflicts we are currently aware of. We also remember those who have died over the years in war.

You can also write a prayer to hang on our prayer tree.

St James The Great

Welcome to St James the Great, High Wych!

Our delightful and unusually small Victorian church was designed by C.E. Pritchett and consecrated in 1861. It has a number of interesting features including a round bell turret with a blue 'Bennet' clock, a richly decorated apse and a two-manual 'Father Willis' organ and is situated next to its C of E primary school, High Wych School, which was built at the same time.
