St Mary's

Welcome to St Mary's, Gilston!

Our original church building was a small aisle-less church, built around 1135, which was entirely rebuilt and enlarged in the second half of the 13th century, with the upper part of the tower seen to have been reconstructed in the late 16th century, when the south brick stair-turret was added.

As part of the Benefice of High Wych and Gilston with Eastwick, we have a variety of services and events at all three of our buildings, and within our communities, so check out our 'Services' and Events' page to find out what on next at St Mary's.

We're looking to see you there!

Safeguarding

The parish of Gilston with Eastwick is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs.

The Diocese of St.Albans’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

See our Safeguarding Benefice page for our policy.
