All are welcome to join us in any of our churches. Whether you are new to the area, have lived here for a while and are joining us for the first time, or are visiting, our services and events are open to everyone and we look forward to meeting you!
Below are a few things to expect at our services. If you would like a chat first, you can contact Revd. Paolo on 07968 606377.
Coming to a service for the first time?
Our main Sunday morning services are at 10:30am, in different churches across our Benefice. Here is what to expect when you come along.
What happens?
· We are a community that welcomes people from all ages and backgrounds, meeting together to get to know God and share life’s ups and downs.
· During the service there will usually be hymns to sing, Bible readings, a sermon and prayers.
· At our main Sunday morning services we share Holy Communion.
· The service usually lasts just over an hour.
· After the service we have tea and coffee, often with biscuits and cake! Please do stay and say hello.
Are children welcome?
· Yes! We love hearing children worshipping with us! Do not worry about noise or children needing to move around.
· Breastfeeding babies are welcome to feed at any time – please make yourself at home.
· Changing facilities are available in St Peter’s and St Mary’s churches.
· Services with specific activities for children are highlighted under services and events.
During the service
· Please feel free to join in as much or as little as you like – nothing is compulsory!
· You will be given a hymn book, service book and notice sheet when you arrive. If you are not sure of anything then ask someone sitting near you.
· The person leading the service will usually let you know what to do next and give guidance on when we would usually stand up or sit down. Please do stand or sit as is most comfortable for you.
· There is a collection in the middle of the service, but please don’t feel you have to give. Many of our regular worshippers give by standing order so not everyone puts something in the collection bowl when it is passed around. Thank you in advance for any donation you would like to make.
· You are welcome to take bread and wine with us if you do so in your home church. If you would prefer a blessing, cross your hands across your chest when come up to the front and we will know that is what you would prefer. If you need a gluten free wafer please ask. If coming up to receive communion at the altar is difficult for you then we are very happy to bring it to your seat.
Access and facilities
· There is parking on the roads around all three of our churches.
· St Peter’s and St Mary’s have toilet facilities, including a disabled toilet. At All Saints, toilet facilities are available in the village hall over the road from the church.
· St Peter’s has a sound system with a hearing loop.
· If you need larger print words then please ask the welcomers.
