Maundy Thursday

for 1 hour
Venue
All Saints Caldecote
Address
Caldecote Biggleswade, SG18 9BL, United Kingdom

We gather for a service to celebrate the gift of the Eucharist that Jesus shared with us at the Last Supper. During this service, the priest will wash the feet of some congregation members to remember Jesus’ act of humility on that occasion.

Immediately following the service, a (voluntary) hour-long vigil will be kept to reflect on the intense agony Jesus experienced while praying in the Garden of Gethsemane.

The vigil may include the use of incense. The main service will NOT use incense.

St Leonard's, Old Warden

The Church of St Leonards is steeped in history, and is famous for its intricate carvings. But it is still a living Church where God is worshipped without fuss week by week. After a long closure for refurbishment, the church is now open for public worship again and  we look forward to welcoming people to our simple 8.45 a.m. Sunday service. It takes place every week apart from once a month, usually on the first Sunday of each month, when we have a shared service with our sister Churches, St Mary the Virgin, Northill or All Saint's Caldecote.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Old Warden is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of St. Albans’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Jez Hurst on 01727 818 107 or 07867 350 886 or via email [email protected] .
If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please don't wait - contact the police and/or your local authority’s children or adult social care service
