Our triangle of grass left without mowing since May is yielding a growing diversity of wild flowers and beginning to sustain some more diverse insect life. We will cut the meadow grass and flowers probably in early August, lay the results to dry for a few days and then remove them to prevent enriching the soil. This should make the ground more suitable for wild flowers next year.
