St Johns, Watford

Welcome to St John's Church, Watford. We believe God accepts us all equally, irrespective of race, sexuality, gender, social standing, age, belief or ability and strive to be a community that lives out that belief.

We are a diverse group of people, of different ages, nationalities and social backgrounds. What unites us is a faith in God, his son Jesus Christ and a desire to share that love with those around us through the power of the Holy Spirit, serving our community.

We celebrate the ministry of both women and men, rejoicing that the Church of England ordains people regardless of their gender to be Deacons, Priests and Bishops.

Safeguarding

Our Parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the interim PSO, Fr Corniel Quak ([email protected], 07516190985), or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor, Jez Hirst ([email protected], 01727 818 107). If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
