Getting here
We do try to make people welcome and at home here at St. Stephen's. You will not find a starchy, "Who's been sitting in MY pew?" attitude here!
The building is, like so many, mainly medieval, with some Victorian tinkerings and a few Saxon bits. Situated in the middle of a peaceful churchyard it is quiet but with a lovely warm "many years of worship" feel about it.

For the enthusiast, Pevsner's "Buildings of England - Hertfordshire" (2nd edition 1977) has rather more detail, on pages 289 and 314 - 316.
