Friends of Holy Saviour Church

The aims of The Friends of Holy Saviour Church are (1) to raise funds to preserve and improve the fabric of this beautiful and important building into the future; (2) to encourage more people to know and enjoy its architecture, art and social context.

The Friends organise fund-raising events, the best-known of which are the popular "Talk and Tea" events. The next is on Sunday 6 April at 3:00pm in Holy Saviour Church:

“Pure & Free", the surprising history of Britain’s Victorian Drinking Fountains.

We are delighted to welcome Dr Kathryn Ferry back to Holy Saviour to speak. In this illustrated talk she will explore the origins of the Drinking Fountain Movement in the mid-nineteenth century which set out to provide free, clean drinking water in public spaces. The talk will also discuss the huge variety of fountain designs that resulted, together with some of the personal stories of the people behind them.

Admission £12 (Friends £10) on the door.

Do come – all are welcome!
