Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. It is the season of penance, reflection and fasting which prepares us for Christ's Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

During the service, the Chaplain places the ashes on the worshipper's foreheads, in the shape of a cross.

As well as working in line with Ministry of Defence Safeguarding Framework (JSP 834), we follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and as a military Chapel, sit within the responsibility of the Aldershot Garrison Safeguarding Officer (GSO).
