"The Longest Yarn" is coming to Aldershot! (1-18 November: Weekdays 0900-1600. Weekends 0900-1700.)

THE LONGEST YARN WILL BE CLOSED ON SATURDAY 9 NOVEMBER (IN PREPARATION FOR SUNDAY'S SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE), BUT OPEN TO VISITORS ON SUNDAY 10 NOVEMBER FROM 1300-1700.

These crocheted and knitted figures depict scenes from D-Day - 6 June 1944.

The scenes are dedicated to the World War 2 Veterans who were part of the momentous day in history when allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy. This was the largest seaborne invasion in history and it ensured the eventual victory of Allied troops.

Parking will be limited to Wellington Statue, Claycart Road, Aldershot (GU11 1SQ) and Bourley Road, Aldershot (GU11 1PT).
You may wish to park in Tesco Superstore, Wellington Avenue (GU11 1SQ) or Westgate Leisure, Wellington Avenue, Aldershot (GU11 1WF). Parking is free for (up to) 3 hours in both locations. Parking is also available in the High Street Multi Storey (GU11 1SD), but you will be charged.

Parking arrangements have been made for Disabled Blue Badge holders in Claycart Road.

Refreshments can be found in Tesco, plus various locations in the town itself. This includes: Vero Waffle Coffee; Karuna Coffee; Poppins Cafe; Cafe Macchiato, Costa Coffee, Jenny's Cafe located in Union Street); Wetherspoons, High Street. Should you be using the train to Aldershot, the Station Cafe is located nearby.
