The Reverend Nick Ball
I have received sad news that the Reverend Nick Ball passed peacefully away yesterday evening.
Nick was a great friend to us here at Tanworth Church over many years and was loved by us all. Nick
was a man of great faith, and I personally took strength from him during the long time he supported
us over the interregnum, until his health deteriorated, and he became poorly a few months ago.
Nick was always happy and smiling. His happiness and and love for the Lord shone through especially
in his sermons, which were always thought provoking, and left you feeling that you had really learnt
something. I received positive comments from members of the congregation after every service Nick
took.
In all of the years that Nick was a friend of ours here at Tanworth, none were more important than
these years we have been in interregnum. Nick was a rock for us. He reliably attended month in and
month out in order that we could receive communion. This included through Covid and the
Reordering Project, when we worshiped in the village hall and school. I have fond memories of Nick
leading our Christmas Day service in the village hall. Nick also presided at other services of
occasional office for us.
Nick’s wife Helen was also a good friend of ours, and often came with Nick to worship. Our thoughts
and prayers are with Helen as well as Nick’s daughters at this sad time and I would ask for your
prayers for the family too.
Nick will be sadly missed by us here in Tanworth Church, but never forgotten.
God Bless you Nick.
