Yes, we have 12 car park spaces adjacent to the Abbey for the use of those who need to park close by. Otherwise there is a huge car park only 60 meters away. It's accessed from Bridge Street Polesworth and once parked you can access the Abbey driveway on foot.

Entrance to Polesworth Abbey is totally flat. You can access the Abbey, toilets, Refectory, garden and churchyard without any problem. We have a wheelchair available for you.

The guide to the Abbey is available in various languages, and in braille for you.

There are large print versions of the service bookelet and large print hymnbooks available.

All dogs are very very welcome at Polesworth Abbey. We have water bowls for dogs — some have been known to snaffle the odd buiscut in the Refectory!

Music and Worship

Monday nights is our ringing night. There are now 8 bells at Polesworth Abbey

Lots of concerts — live music every Sunday: join the choir or the band

The organ is a rebuild of an historic Taylor organ from Leicester. It was extened in 2002 by the addition of a third manual and choir organ.

The choir sings for weekly Sunday services, practices on Friday evenings and contributes to various musical events during the year. Thank you to the choir! Would you like to join us....?


Groups, Courses and Activities

Youth Group

AA Big Book Group meet every Thursday 8.00 pm to 9.30 pm. You are welcome to arrive any time after 7.30 pm.

Regular 'Messy Abbey' — Saturday afternoons at 4.00 pm. See website for dates

Monthly meeting on Mondays; Weekly knitting group on Monday mornings 10.00 am to 12 noon.


Help for Visitors

you can access the internet in the Refectory

There are 37 short videos that you can get on your phone (no cost to you) that show you features of the Abbey inside, including a tour of the stained glass. Each last about a minute. It's called Vis-Box and is very popular with our visitors. In 2018 we hope that the external parts of the Abbey, espeically the gardens and archeology will also have Vis-Box interpreation.

We have an Historical Guide and a supplement produced about the new information on the Abbey that three years of Community Archeology produced.

The Refectory is open for you to get a tea and coffee, there are childrens activities and a family trail as well as a screen showing the Abbey's history in 5 timeline sections. Tea and Coffee are fairtrade and free!

We have a variety of gifts for you as souveniers and also a Traidcraft shop.

The Abbey Church is open every day (including Saturday and Sunday)
for morning prayer at 8.30am and Evening prayer at 6.00pm.

These services in the morning and evening are mainstay of our parish life and our parish' offerning to God. Everyone is welcome.

Sunday: The Eucharist is celebrated at 10.00 am every week

The Abbey is a schedualed monument site in the Polesworth Conservation Area. A new part of the Churchyard has a pond and nature conservation area.

The Refectory is available for hire. Phone 01827 892340
