The church will be open until midnight and a solemn watch will be kept before the Blessed Sacrament, recalling our Lord's agony in the garden of Gethsemane, and offering prayer for the world for which he died. The watch ends with a said service of Tenebrae at midnight in which we extinguish candles one by one. If you come to join the watch, please use the Cloister entrance through the gate on Stanhope Street and enter the church in silence. The watch is in St Patrick's Chapel on the other
side of the church from this entrance.

Welcome to the ACNY page for the church of Saint Alban the Martyr — the Church of England parish church for all the people of Highgate, Birmingham.

We are an inclusive and diverse church with a wide variety of services and activities, some are traditional and some are modern and informal, all within the Affirming Anglo-Catholic tradition of the Church of England. Whether it is Sung Mass, quiet contemplation or family worship, we have something for you.

We care about our community. We work with Ark St Alban’s Academy where our vicar helps the students. We help Stanhope Wellbeing Hub, Highgate Community Support Ltd and run Highgate United Food Bank. We also welcomed people who are new to this country.
