'Posada' is an old tradition that started in Mexico, where people would re-enact Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem, and their search for a room or an inn ('posada') in which they could stay.
In and around St Hilda's this year, in the lead up to Christmas, our very own Mary and Joseph (a couple of knitted figures) will go on their journeys, from place to place and house to house. By being part of their journey, you'll be welcoming them to your home or community space for a period of time. Our hope is that this will be a special experience for you (and anyone you share your home with), and also an opportunity for you to get together with your friends and neighbours in fun, creative and meaningful ways. You'll be given a resource booklet which will include a Bible study you can do alone or with others, questions to think about and resources for children. You don't have to use these, but might find them helpful.
There is a sign-up sheet in the porch with dates available to host Mary and Joseph for a night or two between 1st and 24th December. If you have any questions please speak to Jenni.
