FOUNDATION OF LADY KATHERINE LEVESON – APPOINTMENT OF NEW MASTER The Church wardens of Holy Cross announce that the Bishop of Birmingham has endorsed the appointment by the Governors of the Foundation of Lady Katherine Leveson of the Rev Debbie Collins as Master of the Foundation, which includes being Vicar of St Mary’s Church Temple Balsall. Debbie will take up this post in the early summer. Debbie writes: “I would like to offer a huge thank you to the good and faithful people of Holy Cross Church and to our neighbours and partners in this parish of Billesley Common, for your support and encouragement over the past nearly seven years. As vicar and parish priest I have relished the journey, joining in with God in mission throughout this community. There have been a variety of meaningful and life-giving experiences, sharing in significant times of loss, celebration and education. It has been a privilege to work amongst you as we have sought God’s vision to grow in our faith and in numbers. Together we have been through some heart-breaking and challenging times and encountered many joys and delights while serving God here and there are many personal highlights. This is just the beginning of a time of transition and there will be conversations about the vacancy and future ministry here at Holy Cross Church. My commitment remains as I work and serve God and his people in the coming months, prior to my leaving in late June. I came to Holy Cross in 2016 through prayer and discernment and now following a time of more recent discernment, God has called me forth into a unique role in Temple Balsall where I will draw on both my NHS and ministry experience and be able to further develop my skills and gifts. I hope that you will pray for me as I do for you. In this Easter season, we look to the risen Christ who gives to us: his unfailing love, invincible strength, and infilling of peace. Revd Debbie Collins, Vicar of Holy Cross Church 18/04/23
