About Us

St Stephen’s is a living testimony to the saying that "Beauty is more than skin deep.” The unspectacular architecture on the outside certainly does not reflect the warm and all accepting welcome that is given on the inside. At St Stephen’s all who come to find and worship Jesus Christ are welcomed, valued and appreciated for who they are. Whatever your story, whatever your experience, you are welcome here – we would love to see you at our services.

On a Sunday we meet for worship and communion at 10.00am – followed by excellent coffee and chat in the church hall. We also have facilities for Sunday activities for children and young people and a crèche. We delight in the broad range of ages, cultures and talents that are reflected in our regular congregation.

The church is a focus for all sorts of community activities during the week which take place in the Church Hall and Community Centre including Girlguiding and Scouting groups. We have a Stay and Play group that meet Monday to Wednesday. Other regular events include Keep Fit exercises for over 50s and well as ‘Do Drop In’ lunches which provide very good reasonably priced meals for all age groups every Thursday, cooked and served by our wonderful volunteers.
