A simple, said celebration of Holy Communion lasting about thirty minutes and usually including a brief homily or 'thought for the day'. The service usually takes place in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel (to the left, just inside the church's main entrance) and is followed by coffee in the Lounge for those who would like to stay for a chat.

St Matthew

St Matthew's is a friendly and welcoming church in the 'Modern Catholic' tradition.  Our worship is centred on The Eucharist or Mass and is dignified but never stuffy. The priest wears vestments coloured according to the liturgical season, and incense is normally used on Sundays and major Feast Days.  St Matthew's is proud to be a member of 'Inclusive Church' and offers a genuinely warm and unconditional welcome to everyone, regardless of age, ethnicity, background, sexuality gender identity or relationship status.

Our Parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO).
