Shoe Box Appeal | Collection Deadline Sun 5 November 2024

Occurring
for 1 hour, 30 mins
Venue
St John's Harborne
Address
High Street Harborne Birmingham, B17 9PT, United Kingdom

Help bring some joy this Christmas to those in real need. St John’s are supporting Link to Hope again this year who collect shoeboxes for families and the elderly across Eastern Europe. These shoeboxes are small acts of love for people who often don’t have access to running water, heating and electricity. We’d love to pack over 100 shoeboxes to send off to places such as Ukraine to support people in real need.
If packing a whole shoebox is too much and you’d like to donate individual items instead or if you’re a crafter and could knit or make items we’re going to be having a packing party on Wed 1 Nov from 10:00 to 12:00. All are welcome to come with your items, empty shoeboxes and wrapping paper and we’ll have a cup of tea and pack our boxes together!

Safeguarding

Our parish of Harborne: St John is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Birmingham’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
