About Us

St Matthew's is one of three churches that together make up "The Parish of Aston and Nechells" (the other two being St James, Aston and Ss Peter & Paul (Aston Parish Church).

It has strong links to the local primary schools in the area (particularly St Matthew's Primary School which is next door) and runs several groups on a weekly and monthly basis to reach out to the community.

These include:

Messy church, which runs every second Wednesday of the month, and is a chance for families to come and do craft activities, chill out, and have a meal together.  The cost is just £1 per family, and adults are encouraged to stay with their children.

Stay and Play Parent and Toddler group runs on Wednesday mornings during term time and is a chance for parents to bring their babies, toddlers and young children along so that they can interact with other children their own age.

Foodbank runs every Monday lunchtime.  It is a place where people can come with vouchers and exchange them for food and essential items that can be used to help them through lean times
