The Eve of Easter Day marks the change from the sadness of marking Jesus' death to celebrating his bursting from the tomb very early on Easter Day. We celebrate the arrival of Eastertide by hearing of the predictions of Jesus' resurrection in Scripture, then light a fire to represent the coming alive of Our Lord -from which is lit the new Easter (Paschal) Candle. As Easter Day dawns, so we celebrate with song - and many 'Alleluias' - and this year we shall have a Baptism of an adult member of our congregation, during which we all reaffirm our baptismal Vows. The Eucharist is then celebrated, and the evening is rounded off with a party!
