About Us

St John's is  situated within a former Council Housing Estate, now part owner occupied and part social housing. The Church was built in the 1960's to meet the needs of the new community of Thorpe Edge.  The church  has been re-wired, had new lighting (2010) and new heating (2012) as well as repainted for the first time since it was built.

The small congregation is open and friendly, welcoming people of all ages, especially children and families. The services are relaxed and accessible using common worship as a framework. Children are welcome to stay in church during the service or have the opportunity to meet separately for their own teaching session.
