Skipton: Christ Church

Welcome to Christ Church, a lively, friendly, warm and welcoming church situated in a beautiful Victorian Grade ll* listed building on the south side of the market town of Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales.

We follow what is best described as a ‘liberal catholic’ tradition. The Eucharist is central to our worship and the clergy wear Eucharistic vestments. We celebrate the Eucharist regularly on Wednesday and Sunday mornings, and in addition we celebrate many Feast Days (full details can be found in the Services and Events section in the left hand menu).

Music plays an integral role in our worship, provided by our accomplished organists playing a magnificent instrument installed by Harrison and Harrison of Durham in 1905, which is listed as Grade ll* by the British Institute of Organ Studies.

We have a lively Sunday School, which takes place in church during the service. We especially welcome children and young families, and indeed anyone seeking support to follow God’s Word from a loving and inclusive Christian community.

Tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits are served on Sunday after the service and members of the congregation love to stay and chat to their friends and visitors.
