Your gifts will be used to help farmers in Malawi to buy and plant better seeds (“pigeon peas”) and secure a fairer price for their crops which will enable payment for their children’s education, leading to happier futures for them. On 24th September there will be an Aireborough churchs’ sponsored walk, also to raise funds for Christian Aid.
ST PETER’S WILL HAVE A NEW VICARThe Bishop of Leeds is pleased to announce the appointment of the Reverend Rachel Ford, currently serving as Assistant Curate at Abbeylands, as the Vicar of Rawdon in the Leeds Episcopal Area. The licensing date will be announced in due course but it will not be for several months yet. In the meantime, the interregnum arrangements for running the church continue with the Church Wardens in charge, supported by the Ministry Team under the direction of Mrs Carol Dearden.
Janet Kelly extends her thanks to all who ordered Christmas cards and other items from the Children's Society in December. The total sales were £330.25, which is a very good result in a difficult year. In addition, £173.00 was collected at the Christingle services and £109.79 was received in the Children’s Society home boxes. Your generosity is very much appreciated - the money raised helps the Society to reach out to many vulnerable children and to tackle problems such as poverty, abuse or neglect, making a real difference and changing lives.
