Great Horton: St John the Evangelist

St John's is a friendly, welcoming and buzzing church for people of all ages and backgrounds.  Our building is situated just off Great Horton Road in Bradford, only a mile up the hill from the University.  We're next to Tesco's!

We usually have three services on a Sunday. In the morning is a service of Holy Communion (called "Living Water") at 9am and this is followed by a service of "Informal Worship" at 10.30am. The "Informal Worship" Service includes groups for children and young people up to 13 years of age and there are refreshments after both services. We also have an Evening Service which starts at 6pm and includes a time of informal contemporary worship followed by Bible teaching. Refreshments are served before the Evening Service and anyone is welcome to join us from 5.30pm.

There is a youth group, called "Frogs", for young people of secondary school age which meets every Sunday evening at 7.30pm.

There is a prayer meeting throughout the week at 9.30am, and we also meet for a mid week Holy Communion service on a Wednesday at 10am. Many members of the church also meet in small groups throughout the week - please contact the vicar for further details of the small groups.

St John's is home to a thriving Under Fives group and Community Nursery which provides nursery care throughout the year, as well as a foodbank providing support to the needy of the parish.
