Our Building

We have stained glass windows all around the church building which also tell the story of Samuel Marsden, a vicar born in Farsley, who took some Merino sheep from England to Australia and later returned to England to demonstrate how strong and superior the wool was from this sheep. He became responsible, among others, for the burgeoning West Yorkshire woollen industry which flourished thanks to Marsden’s role as a shepherd.

St John's is a Grade Two listed building which means it is considered to be a building of national importance and special interest.
