TOGETHER: GROWING, CARING, SHARING IN GOD'S LOVE

WE ARE OPEN FOR WORSHIP!

Our church is open for worship on Sundays, at 10.30am. Following the latest government guidance, the wearing of a facemask in church is not compulsory anymore, although still advised.

We have also a midweek Holy Communion on Wednesday, at 10am.

SAFEGUARDING: "The parish of Wibsey, St Paul is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of Leeds’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisors (DSA) who advise our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."  A special page 'Safeguarding' (p.1 on the left of this webpage) gives you more information about that.

WORSHIP: We are open for worship every Sunday at 10.30am and our service is live streamed on our Facebook account. For the midweek HC see above.

BAPTISMS, WEDDINGS, FUNERALS: To book a baptism or a wedding, please, contact the vicar on 01274 676359. See also the special pages dedicated to it on this website (look at the column on the left). For a funeral, ask the funeral director of your choice to contact the vicar.

FAMILIES, CHILDREN: Resources for a Sunday School are available on our Facebook page every week, along other resources for adults and teenagers. Our Messy Church for children with thier parents/guardinas is usually held on the 3rd Sunday of a month (check on Facebook to be sure), at 2.30pm. The Toddlers' Group is run every Tuesday during school terms, 9.30am to 11.30am.

FOOD BANK: Our Food Bank is open every Wednesday, 10.30am-12 noon, in partnership with the Metropolitan Bradford Food Bank: we collect food for them and take bags already prepared by them. People can receive a one-off help with a self-assessment, but need to contact a social adviser from CHAS (01274 731909) to receive further help, that will be given according to the instructions of the social adviser. It is about making sure that people receive all the help they need to go back on their feet, without falling in a system of dependency. Note that people living in the areas of Buttershaw and Woodside will be redirected to their local foodbank at the Sandale Community Centre (Reevy Road West). The foodbank of the Salvation Army is open every week on Tuesday and Friday, from 9am to 12 noon; the catholi church on St Paul's avenue runs also a social market on Wednesday morning.

ONLINE RESOURCES: Every week, in our facebook page, resources for adults, teenagers and children can be downloaded, and a text to meditate with a video (from the Pilgrim course) is offered to deepen your understanding of what is christian faith.

CHRISTIAN COURSES: We are running monthly an evening to explore an aspect of Christan faith. Each time, one of these questions is addressed, and change on a rota: has contemporary science proved faith wrong about the existence of God? Is God just a projection of our desires? Why is there so much suffering in the world if God is love? What is the Bible and how could it be the Word of God with so many horrible passages? Did Jesus really exist or is he a myth? Are the Gospels just a glorifying novel about him? Who was he and why did he die? Is the resurrection of Jesus just a fairy tale for primary school children? Who is the Holy Spirit and what does she do? Why should I pray and what does mean the Lord's prayer? How can I be free if I have to follow ten old fashioned commands? What is faith and why is there so many religions? What is the Church, and what mean baptism and holy communion? What happens after death: can we really believe in heaven and hell? Call the vicar to know more (01274 676359).

GIVING: Our church has always been reliant on people’s generosity, your generosity, for which we are truly grateful. People give to our church in a variety of ways, but we cannot carry on fulfilling our mission in Wibsey without your generosity. Please, use the Donate button on our home page. Many thanks.
