This year’s Lent course will be looking at key themes of Christian discipleship and will be held weekly for five weeks. There will be a bread and cheese lunch available from 12.45pm and the course will start at 1pm.

Maundy Thursday Liturgy at St Giles on the Hill

Solemn Eucharist of the Last Supper with washing of feet. The service ends (and you are free to go) at around 8 pm. However there will be a procession with the Blessed Sacrament to St George's Tombland where it will be placed in the garden of repose, and we shall maintain the watch at the Altar of Repose in St George's from 8.45 pm until midnight.

Praying at the Garden of Gethsemane: The Maundy Thursday Night Time Watch with lamentations

In the dark night of Maundy Thursday, after we have gone out into the Garden of Gethsemane with Jesus, we are invited to watch all night during his agony and betrayal in the garden. Various city centre churches who are keeping the watch will be open, with candle lit altars and flowers. We shall keep the watch from 2045 to midnight in St George Tombland, after processing with the Blessed Sacrament from St Giles on the Hill. Fr Alaric will intone the lamentations of Jeremiah
