Silent prayer and gentle Bible reading and listening. Rooted in the Christian tradition and open to people of any or no faith. We meet for meditation on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings - dates as advertised. All are welcome.
Join us for half an hour on a Friday morning for a small informal prayer group. We are currently praying for God’s guidance and support as we search for a new Rector in the Benefice.
St Mary the Virgin church is open most days between 10am and 4pm for quiet prayer and reflection.
A dementia friendly event in a local care home
Holy Communion with hymns, choir, organ or the church music group, bellringing and a sermon. All are welcome. Refreshments follow the service in the Vicarage Schoolroom (church hall) on Queen Street.

On 13 and 14 December, we will also be enjoying some Christmas music and singing.
A drop-in sewing project at Eden Café, Vicarage School Room, once a month on a Wednesday afternoon 2 – 4pm. Come and stitch together to create your own journal of a year, month by month, starting on 25 September 2024.
Please bring your own materials: 1 12” – 14” piece of calico or cotton, needle and threads (circler template provided).

Once a month on a Sunday morning we have a 40 minute service to begin Sunday.
Come and have a look at the various stitching projects that have been made in the craft workshops held this year. We have all enjoyed stitching together, whilst also raising money (over £800 so far) for St Mary’s Church and local charities. Many thanks to everyone for their support.

Bring along your items for mending and a team of fixers will be available to perform straightforward repairs while you wait. No charge, but donations towards costs are gratefully received. Or just come along and enjoy refreshments in the cafe!
On the 5th Sunday of the month, the 3 churches of the Benefice come together to share Holy Communion. The service takes place at either 10am (when in St Mary's Gillingham) or 10:30am (when in St Simon & Jude, Milton on Stour or St Nicholas, Silton).
It's great. It's Messy. It's Church. For families of all ages, with craft activities, worship and tea. In the Vicarage Schoolroom Queen Street.
Pleas bring along a bag, if you can, to take your crafts and makes home with you!
