About Us

St Mary the Virgin is the Church of England (Anglican) church for Gillingham. We try to be an open, kind and joyful Christian community, loving God, each other and the world. 

The church building is open most of the week for prayer, peace and silence. There are various activities on Sundays and throughout the week, not just our main Sunday service!  You’ll find details of these on the Services and Events page and also on our notice sheet.  There’s something for everyone, including the Eden Cafe, meditation, Messy Church, bellringing, choir, social action projects ... and many more regular and one off activities through the year.

Public car parks and on-street parking places are close by.  The main south door is suitable for wheelchair access.
