June 4th each year marks the anniversary of the tragic death of 12 young USAF men as they crashed their plane close to Garvestone, whilst on their way to fight in World War Two. They died shortly before D-Day and the people of Garvestone have worked together to erect a memorial n their honour. The memorial is in the field behind the Village Hall. Each year we gather there to hold a short memorial service and to remember them, and the sacrifice they made to win our freedom today. All are welcome.

Kimberley: St Peter

You are very welcome to our medieval church of St Peter in Kimberley! The Church lies in the middle of the village just off the Wymondham Road. Parking is on the road and green outside the church. In winter bring a torch as there are no street lights. There is a toilet at the church. Refreshments are usually available after most services but check individual services for details. St Peter's Church has been the centre of Christian worship, prayer and praise to God for nearly 1000 years. Now part of the Barnham Broom and Upper Yare Team of Parishes, a Group of 13 parishes with 15 churches (Groupof15), we continue to be dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and serving our community.

If you would like to help us in our work of service to the community and the upkeep of our medieval church, you can donate through our website www.groupof15.org.uk or give through DONATE at
