The Kelling Queen's Jubilee Tea Party

Community_news

The tea party went off well. We were lucky with the weather on the Saturday and about 100 Kelling residents attended. We enjoyed good company, music and food. Outdoor games were completed and included sack race, egg and spoon and tug of war. The cake competition was won by the Savory family for an abstract entry.

We appreciate the significant support of the Kelling Estate and the loan of chairs and tables from the Dugdale family. Many people helped and notable ones were Patricia Durrant, Rosemary Medler, Adrian and Juliet Taunton for assisting in setting up the art exhibition in the Church - in addition we were able to auction Adrian's painting of Kelling. Thanks also to the Parish council members for helping on the day and before. Finally, just over 1100 pounds was raised for the Church funds. People have now been asking for an annual fete.
